Governor Patrick has set a goal of getting every child in Massachusetts to reading proficiency by Grade 3, a key indicator of future academic success.  To do this, EOE is working with our early education and K-12 agencies to enhance early learning standards, increase kindergarten readiness, expand access to early education programs across the state and build a birth to grade 3 assessment system.  Family engagement and the support of community-based organizations are critical to this work and an important part of the Administration’s strategy to give our youngest citizens a successful start.
