Grant Description & Purpose

Through this renewal grant application, EEC may award grants to one or more vendor(s) to provide professional development opportunities and support services to early education and out of school time educators and providers in EEC's mixed delivery system including: center-based, family child care, public and private preschools, and out of school time/after school programs.

The intent of this renewal application is to:

  • Support pathways that lead educators to degree attainment and increased competency through certificates and credentials;
  • Support providers (programs) in attaining and maintaining accreditation and upward movement on the Massachusetts Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS).
  • Foster a comprehensive professional development system that addresses leadership development and leaders in the field.

Responses to this Grant Application (RFR) are due to EEC by 4:00 PM on May 29, 2015. Please see the Grant Application (RFR) for a timeline of additional dates relevant to responding to this Grant Application (RFR).

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible to apply for funding through this renewal Grant Application, entities must be an FY2015 Educator and Provider Support Grantee that has satisfied all requirements of the FY2015 Educator and Provider Support Grant and be in good standing with the Department of Early Education and Care. Failure to satisfy all of the requirements of the FY2015 Educator and Provider Support Grant will make a grantee ineligible to receive FY2016 funding.

EEC will accept, review, and process renewal applications beginning May 13, 2015.  In accordance with the submission requirements detailed below, all required documents, including the online application, attachments, and fiscal forms must be received at EEC’s Central by 4:00 PM on May 29, 2015.

Grantees must also complete and mail one original packet of the following forms with their Grant Application response (unless applicant already has these documents on file with the Commonwealth of MA)

EEC may disqualify any incomplete grant applications from consideration/review.

  • Please send an email to notify us of your submission and include name of grant and name of your agency on the subject line of the email Example:  FY 2016 Educator and Provider Support Renewal Grant, XYZ Community Program.
  • Please note: If your application is selected for funding, EEC will e-mail a Standard Contract Form to the individual identified as the “Applicant Contact” in Part 1 of each response.  This Form will need to be printed, signed (in blue ink), and returned to EEC prior to the Grant start date. Directions on how to submit the signed form to EEC will be explained with the form.

Any submission which fails to meet the submission requirements of the Grant Application (RFR) will be found non-responsive without further evaluation unless the evaluation team, at its discretion, determines that the non-compliance is insubstantial and can be corrected.  In these cases, the evaluation team may allow the applicant to make minor corrections to the submission
