Grant Description & Purpose

EEC is pleased to announce the FY2012 Early Childhood Special Education Consolidated Grant Renewal Package. The FY12 Early Childhood Special Education Consolidated Grants Renewal package provides public school systems and lead agencies with funding to support 3, 4, and 5 year-old children with disabilities in high-quality programs across settings following the federal and state requirements for inclusive environments.

This consolidated package contains two (2) grants related to the inclusion of children with disabilities in early education and care programs. Grant responses may be submitted as a consolidate package or individually by fund code. Each grant has a similar purpose to support young children with disabilities and each grant has distinct application requirements, as well as unique federal and state grant reporting requirements.

Early Childhood Special Education Allocation (Fund Code 262)

Funds are supplemental Federal funds (Section 619, Part B of IDEA) to provide school systems with funding to support 3, 4, and 5 year-old children with disabilities in high-quality programs across settings following the federal and state requirements for services or supports to children 3-5 years old who have been determined eligible for special education.

Eligible Applicants

Vendors who received grants awards through the FY11 Early Childhood Special Education Allocation (Fund Code 262) are eligible to apply for these FY12 Early Childhood Special Education Allocation Renewal Funds.

Dear Early Childhood Special Education Grantees:  

As a follow-up to our July 21, 2011 email stating that several FY12 262 Early Childhood Special Education Grant allocations amounts have undergone slight increases or decreases based on the federal formula outlined in IDEA Part B Section 619, please read the following directions on how to update and resubmit your budget and budget narrative.   

How to Resubmit Your Budget with the Revised FY12 262 Allocation amounts.

  • Find your revised allocation amount either attached or on the Early Education and Care website under the FY12 Early Childhood Special Education Grant. 
  • Log-in to the FY12 Early Childhood Special Education Allocation Grant Online Application Portal via EEC’s website.
  • Click the button to “View and Edit” your Budget Detail and Narrative, update your budget and budget narrative information, and then select “Save and Home”.
  • Select “Print Summary” to create a PDF version of your revised application, and Save the PDF file as “Revised Your District NameGrant262_Package.pdf”. Click the “Submit” button when done.
  • Please send the PDF file “Revised Your District NameGrant262_Package.pdf” to procure@massmail.state.ma.us with the following subject line: “Revised FY12 262 Budget Your District’s Name

FY12 Inclusive Preschool Learning Environments (Fund Code 391)

The Inclusive Preschool Learning Environments funds are state funds (formerly known as Chapter 188/Phase I of CPC) designed to support inclusive preschool learning environments for preschool children with disabilities with their typically developing peers. All applicants must meet the standards/definition of Inclusive Preschool Learning Environments

Eligible Applicants

Vendors who received grants awards through the FY11 Inclusive Preschool Learning Environments (Fund Code 391) are eligible to apply for the FY12 Inclusive Preschool Learning Environments Funds.
