Residential & Placement Licensing Policy Statement
Some contracted foster care/adoption agencies operate "satellite offices" to assist staff who cover large geographic areas in minimizing travel to visit foster and adoptive parents and/or children in their care. While at these satellite offices staff make telephone calls, schedule home visits, and perform other administrative functions that do not require travel to the main office.
EEC foster care and adoption placement licenses are not transferable to other locations. However, a licensed placement agency may operate a satellite office under its main agency license if the following criteria are met:
- The satellite office shares the same program director, who sits at the licensed foster care/adoption agency site;
- All referrals for placement are received and processed at the licensed foster care/adoption agency site;
- All foster and adoptive parent, children and personnel records are kept at the licensed foster care/adoption agency site, and are available for review by EEC personnel at that site at any time during normal business hours.
