The purpose of this Bulletin is to update current access to EEC child care financial assistance for eligible families outlined in the July 19, 2010 email from Bill Concannon, "Open Access Email" and its attachments (e.g., the attached memo entitled "Income Eligible Open Access Follow-up").
Access to EEC Financial Assistance
Currently, new preschool children entering Kindergarten in August/September 2011 are able to access care only through the ARRA Preschool Child Care Education (PSCCE) program, regardless of whether they are accessing care from the waitlist or as a sibling of a child in subsidized care.
Now that the ARRA Summer Only care is ending, access is now open for school age children, including before school, after school and intermittent care (school vacations and closures). Access to income eligible financial assistance remains open for all other age groups (Infants, Toddlers, Preschool children not otherwise eligible for ARRA PSCCE and School Age children). Please note that for tracking purposes, children whose ARRA Summer Only care ends must be placed on the wait list with their original date before enrolling them in care. If ARRA 2010 Summer Only children are re-enrolled in care, they may be assessed at 85% SMI.
As always, EEC contracted providers may enroll children from the wait list on a first come first served basis when they have open contract slots and no children matching the open program type enrolled through the flex pool.
