Group and School Age Child Care Licensing Policy Statement
Multiple licenses will be issued to a licensee under the following circumstances:
- If the licensee has programs in more than one building and each has a different street address; or
- If the licensee has more than one type of program (such as group child care and school age child care) at a single address. However, a Limited School Age Care license and a School Age Child Care License will not be issued to the same address.
In addition, multiple licenses may be issued, at the discretion of the licensing supervisor, if more than one group child care or school age child care program is located at the same address, but each has a very different purpose (for example, after school care and therapeutic school age care, or early intervention and preschool care).
When more than one building is located at the same street address and the programs located there are essentially the same, one license will be issued covering all programs at that address. The license will reflect the capacity of each building. Separate buildings may not be considered as one classroom for purposes of groupings and staffing. Administration may be shared by both building, depending on the total capacity of the license and the proximity of the buildings.
