In August, 2010, EEC implemented a new, 5 hour pre-service orientation for family child care providers and certified assistants. Educators completing the new orientation were advised that they would be expected to complete a second five-hour training (FCC Orientation Module Two) during their first year of licensure. Together, these two trainings fulfill the ten hours of professional development required for educators during their first year of licensure.
EEC is pleased to announce that FCC Orientation Module Two is now available, and is being offered by approved trainers across the state. If you were first licensed after August, 2010, you must complete Module Two before your license will be renewed. Newly licensed family child care educators and certified assistants should plan to take this training after they have provided services for six months or more. Family child care educators who held licenses prior to August, 2010, may also want to take this training for 5 EEC professional development hours.
