Under 330 CMR 13.00 , the Department of Agricultural Resources registers pet foods that are distributed or manufactured in Massachusetts. Under 330 CMR 14.00 , the Department also registers commercial feeds that are manufactured, sold, or distributed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Registration and Fees
Firms are required to register by February 1.The annual registration fee is $100.00 per product. A late fee of $25.00 per product is applied if firms do not register by February 1.
No tonnage fees are charged on commercial feed or pet food.

STELLA & CHEWY’S RECALL
Stella & Chewy’s is voluntarily recalling some of its products due to concerns of a possible presence of Listeria Monocytogenes. The recall was prompted by a positive test confirming Listeria Monocytogenes in Chewy’s Chicken Freeze-Dried Dinner Patties for dogs, 15 ounce Lot #111-15. Currently, there have been no reported pet or human illnesses associated with this recall. Listeria is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. NATURE’S VARIETY RECALL
Nature’s Variety has announced a voluntary recall of their Instinct Raw Chicken Formula for Dogs with a Best Buy Date of 04/27/16 because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The affected products are limited to the Instinct Raw Chicken Formula Bites packaged in 4 lb and 7 lb bags and Instinct Raw Chicken Formula Patties in 6 lb bags.To date, no illnesses have been reported. Bravo Pet Foods of Manchester, CT is recalling select lots of Bravo Chicken for Dogs and Cats due to concerns the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.The affected products are Bravo Blend Chicken Diet for Dogs & Cats 2lb with a best buy date of 12/05/16. As a precaution three additional products were also recalled: Bravo Balance Chicken Dinner Patties for Dogs, Bravo Balance Chicken Chub Dinner for Dogs and Bravo Blend Chicken Patties for Dogs and Cats. All have a Best Buy Date of 12/05/16.
