Important Changes in Northeast Pesticide Safety Education Manual and Supplement
Please note that the University of Massachusetts Extension Service (UMASS), Pesticide Education Program (PEP) now sells and distributes the 3rd Edition of the Northeast Pesticide Safety Education Manual; likewise, the exam given by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (the Department) was updated to reflect both the new manual and core supplement.
If you plan to take this exam in Calendar Year 2016, you should purchase the 3rd Edition of the Northeast Pesticide Safety Education Manual. Please read the Department's Letter explaining these changes in more detail.
The bulletin is divided into sections for your convenience in downloading. It is important, however, that you download the Complete Bulletin , if you have not taken a Massachusetts Pesticide Exam before; such that, you will have all of the rules and procedures for the examination and licensure process.
Important 2016 Exam Application Updates
The Department has changed the Exam Registration Application Form with directions to mail the completed forms and fees to a new "Lockbox" address. Please be sure to send your exam registration applications and license applications to the Lockbox address provided on these updated forms. The Lockbox is maintained by Bank of America; whom, receives and processes the forms and fees.
Please be sure your check or money order is made payable to the "Commonwealth of Massachusetts". No other payee names are accepted by the MDAR Lockbox maintained by Bank of America
When should you submit your Exam Registration Application?
As per State Pesticide Regulations, your Exam Registration Application must be received by the Department prior to the the deadline. Please submit the application with sufficient time for U.S. Mail and the Lockbox Service to process application and forward it to the Department. Do NOT submit your exam registration applications the day before, hoping to beat the deadline using overnight mail services.
