Calendar Year (CY) 2014 Renewal Process - Getting Underway
The CY 2014 license renewals will soon be mailed out to individuals who maintained their Massachusetts pesticide credentials in CY 2013 and who recertified, as required, through the Department's Recertification and Audit Process. All 2013 Massachusetts pesticide applicator credentials, both commercial and private, will expire on December 31, 2013. Pesticide applicators must maintain their Massachusetts pesticide applicator credentials every year or obtain a new license or certification through the process of re-examination.
Missing Your Calendar Year (CY) 2014 Pesticide License Credential Renewal Form
If you maintained a valid Massachusetts pesticide applicator credential in 2013 and do not receive your renewal CY 2014 renewal form by November 1, 2013 than you should call or send email to request a duplicate .
Please note that if you were audited for compliance with the Department's Recertification Requirements, but failed to recertify through the Department's Recertification and Audit Process, than you will not be be sent a CY 2013 renewal form--but must instead obtain a new license via re-examination.
The CY 2013 Recertification/Audits were due on August 16, 2013. Please see the below link for a list of those individuals who were audited in 2013.

- Full Name (first name and last name)
- Massachusetts Pesticide License Number
- Current Address (street number; unit/apt. number; city/town; state; and zip code)
- Telephone number where you can be reached
2014 Pesticide License Credential Renewal Fees
The fees associated with renewal of your 2014 Massachusetts pesticide credential(s) are as follows:
- Commercial Applicator License (core) – $100 - (due no later than December 31st each calendar year)
- Commercial Applicator Certification - $150 - (due no later than December 31st each calendar year)
- Private Certification - $100 - (due no later than December 31st each calendar year)
- Dealer License - $300 - (due no later than February 28th each calendar year)
Calendar Year 2014 Late Renewal Interval
If you are a Massachusetts pesticide applicator and do not renew your 2014 Pesticide Applicator License Credential by December 31, 2013, than you will be assessed a late fee . After the December 31 deadline, you may still renew your 2014 Pesticide Applicator License Credential until June 30, 2014; however, you will be charged the applicable late fee . The late renewal fee associated with your Massachusetts pesticide credential is equivalent to the applicable exam fee for the corresponding credential type. This late fee is charged in addition to the annual renewal fee.
Changes in Address
In most cases where a license credential or renewal form is not received, the cause is that we do not have your current address. If you do not receive your 2014 Renewal Form by November 1, 2013 or if you moved or otherwise changed the address whereby you receive mail, please call or send to Hoang.Vo@state.ma.us. It is essential that individuals maintaining a Massachusetts Pesticide Credential notify the Department when changing their address and telephone number. Failure to notify the Department of such changes may result in significant delays in receiving your Calendar Year 2014 Renewal Form and delay the issuance of your 2014 Massachusetts Pesticide Credential.
Failed to Renew Your Credential in 2013
The grace period from January 1, 2013 to June 30, 2013; whereby, you could still renew your Calendar Year 2013 Massachusetts pesticide credential, after paying both renewal and late fee , has ended. For those who did not renew their 2013 Massachusetts pesticide credentials and for those who did not recertify via the Department's audit, you will need to go through the re-examination process. This means that you will be required to take the applicable State pesticide license or certification exam over. Please complete an exam registration as found in the Department’s Pesticide Exam and License Information Bulletin.
Please Note: Massachusetts is no longer granting reciprocal licenses and you must take a Massachusetts pesticide exam and obtain a Massachusetts pesticide license in order to legally work in the Commonwealth.
