DCR is steward to over 450,000 acres throughout Massachusetts. Its mission is to protect, promote, and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural, and recreational resources.

The agency offers both year-round and seasonal employment opportunities. These include a wide range of occupations from entry-level to experienced professionals in the areas of natural and cultural resources, forestry, education, engineering, planning, finance, and administration.

Massachusetts state parks are a great place to visit and work; both our seasonal staff and visitors keep coming back, year after year.

Lifeguard positions have a separate hiring process, and require testing and certification.
