DCR to Present Tree City USA Awards to 88 Massachusetts Communities

ARLINGTON – On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Deputy Commissioner for Conservation and Resource Stewardship Priscilla Geigis will present the National Arbor Day Foundation’s 2016 Tree City USA Award to 88 Massachusetts communities, two Tree Line USA Award to utility companies, and four Tree Campus USA Awards to colleges and universities for their dedication to urban forestry management. The program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation and is administered by the DCR.

Colleges and universities to receive Tree Campus USA recognition includes: College of the Holy Cross, Smith College, UMass-Amherst, UMass-Lowell.

Additionally, the Tree Line USA recognition will be awarded to utility companies Eversource and National Grid.
