Bowhunter Education was developed by the National Bowhunter Education Foundation and includes bowhunting methods, the selection of equipment, bowhunting safety and ethics, and handling of game. Bowhunter Education is not required in Massachusetts and a Bowhunter Education certificate does not qualify a person to purchase a Massachusetts Hunting or Sporting license. However, a Massachusetts Bowhunter Education Certificate is accepted in other jurisdictions that do mandate the successful completion of the course.
