Public Notice of Wood Products Sale
The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife (MassWildlife) is offering a wood products sale for public competitive bid at 9:30 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Montague Plains Wildlife Management Area in Montague, MA. Meet at the intersection of Lake Pleasant Road and Bartlett Road in Montague to view this 66 acre harvest that includes approximately 61 mbf timber (pitch pine and white pine), and 2,844 tons of chipwood (mainly pitch pine and white pine).
Prospective bidders must either attend the scheduled public showing described above, or contact MassWildlife at 508-389-6324 PRIOR TO the scheduled showing to arrange an alternative showing. All prospective bidders MUST be announced at the scheduled public showing. Bid materials will be available ONLY at the showing. Estimated wood product volumes provided are not guaranteed and prospective bidders are responsible for making their own determination of wood product volume and value. Whole-tree harvesting is required for this wood products sale to facilitate prescribed burning after completion of the harvesting.
On an annual basis, MassWildlife prepares a Census Report documenting the number of pairs of Piping Plover breeding in Massachusetts. After allowing at least 21 days for the public to review the newest annual report, MassWildlife determines the number of exposures to covered activities that will be allowed during the following season. This report is now available for review.
