6.01: Dog Restraining Order in Certain Counties

In accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. c. 131, § 82, notification is hereby given of a dog restraining order effective 48 hours from the date of publication and shall remain in effect until rescinded.

(1) All persons owning, keeping or possessing a dog or dogs shall restrain such dog or dogs from running at large in any city or town in the counties of:

BarnstableHampden
BerkshireHampshire
BristolMiddlesex
DukesNantucket
EssexNorfolk
FranklinPlymouth
 Worcester


(2) This order is deemed necessary to prevent dogs from chasing, harassing, hunting, molesting, attacking or killing deer, and becomes effective January 15, 1976.
