NHESP sponsors a Small Research Contract (SRC) program which funds research projects during the field season focused on biological conservation priorities. These projects vary from radio telemetry tracking of rare turtles to genetic research on rare plant species. When available, research and inventory proposals are usually solicited in January each year with contracts awarded in March.
There is no funding available at this time. Please check back.
Many reports of rare species occurrences are turned in by non-staff biologists, amateur naturalists or observant members of the public. If you have observed a Massachusetts rarity and can document the observation with a map and photos, video or audio tape, please let us know about it! Please visit the “Report Rare Species ” page.
