To request site-specific rare species information for regulatory review, please visit our Massachusetts Endangered Species Act (MESA) section and fill out and mail in a MESA Information Request Form with supporting documentation (mailing address is on the form). This form is not required as part of a MESA Project Review. However, it is highly recommended that project proponents request this information prior to development of site plans, especially if the project falls within Priority Habitat for rare species. See our Regulatory Review section for more information.
If you are requesting information for habitat management or conservation purposes and you are a non-profit conservation group, government agency, or working with a government agency, fill out and mail in a Data Release Form with supporting documentation (mailing address is on the form). Do not fill out a MESA Information Request Form.
Please note rare species lists by town can be found by accessing the Rare Species by Town online viewer.
