Dogfish Bar, at the west end of Martha’s Vineyard in Aquinnah, is a famed shore fishing location, acquired by the Division in 1996. This fishing spot is known for unparalleled spring striped bass fishing and adrenaline producing fall false albacore fishing. Catches of bluefish, bonito, and Spanish mackerel are also common at this scenic location.
Take State Road towards Gay Head past Menemsha and Squibnocket Ponds. Take a right onto Lobsterville Road and then a left onto Lighthouse Road. Then take a right onto unpaved Oxcart Road, which parallels the beach. There is limited off road parking (5 spaces). No roadside parking is allowed. Parking is for shore fishing access only.
