The eLogbook is MarineFisheries’ electronic recreational angler logbook. It does two jobs in one! Volunteer recreational anglers record their daily fishing log into the database through an online connection. These anglers can look through their logs by tables and colorful graphs, making it an easy way to keep track of personal fishing efforts.
MarineFisheries uses the data to assess recreational angling efforts and increase the amount of data used in improving stock assessments of Massachusetts marine species. This information also helps protect important fish habitats and fishing grounds. The national Marine Recreational Information Program (MRIP) currently lacks information on specific aspects of fisheries required for the most effective fisheries management, making the eLogbook a great resource for fisheries management.
Anyone who recreationally fishes in Massachusetts and/or adjacent federal marine waters can and is invited to participate in this program. Click the above link to access the login page. If you are a new user, follow the onscreen instructions to set up a profile. You must have a valid e-mail address in order to participate.
All data provided by participating anglers are considered confidential under M.G.L. c. 66A, the Fair Information Practices Act and only MarineFisheries personnel will have complete access.
Log in today to keep track of your fishing season and aid in the conservation of your favorite recreational fish species!
