Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP) Municipal Grants

MassDEP Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP) Municipal Grants support recycling, composting/organics, reuse, source reduction, policy development and enforcement activities that increase diversion of municipal solid waste and household hazardous waste from disposal. MassDEP accepts applications between early April and mid June annually.

Recycling Loan Fund

Administered by BDC Capital and funded by MassDEP this fund provides loans of between $50,000 and $500,000 to help Massachusetts businesses active in obtain the capital they need for recycling-related activities.

Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) Community Grants

These grants help community organizations, municipal departments and small businesses to encourage people to switch from toxic chemicals to safer alternatives or methods.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Pollution Prevention & Toxics

Responsible for overseeing grant programs that help states and tribes promote pollution prevention through source reduction and resource conservation.
