Governor Baker recently signed An Act Relative to Energy Diversity which requires utilities to competitively solicit and contract for approximately 1,600 (MW) of offshore wind and approximately 1,200 megawatts (MW) of other Class I renewable resources like hydropower, solar and onshore wind.

This policy is related to the Clean Energy Imports policy.

The DPU is conducting adjudicatory proceedings for each of the electric distribution companies’ grid modernization plans, which the companies filed to meet the requirements of DPU order 12-76-B.
