The Toxics Use Reduction Program will be hosting several training sessions for Toxic Use Reduction Planners during the next few months. The Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) and OTA will be repeating the Resource Conservation Planning Day 1 on January 26, 2010 at the UMass-Lowell Inn & Conference Center in Lowell, MA. This workshop will familiarize planners with the objectives, methods and requirements of Resource Conservation (RC) Planning options available under the new 2006 TURA Amendments. This course will fulfill six of the 12 credits required in order to certify a RC Plan. The other 6 credits may be in any asset area of resource conservation. Planners who are interested in certifying RC plans should seriously consider attending this training. This course is a specific CE area for RC planning and will be the only one offered this fiscal year. More information is available on the TURI website: http://www.turi.org/toxics_use_home/home_page/calendar_2009/tuesday_january_26_2010_resource_conservation_day_1
In addition, OTA will offer a repeat of Resource Conservation Planning Day 2: Asset Specific Planning (Energy and Water) in mid-to late March. Check the OTA website for updates at: http://www.mass.gov/eea/ota. TURI also anticipates offering a Toxic Use Reduction Planner Continuing Education Conference during the month of April.
