Excellence in Energy and Environmental Education Awards
The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) in collaboration with the Secretary's Advisory Group on Energy and Environmental Education (SAGEE) and the Massachusetts Environmental Trust (MET) conducts an annual award program to recognize schools and teachers (K-12 ) across the Commonwealth for their outstanding efforts in furthering energy and environmental education initiatives at their schools.

EEA Secretary Ian A. Bowles is committed to this award program which formally recognizes and thanks teachers, students and non-profit environmental educators for raising awareness about a variety of energy and environmental issues. The intent of the award program is to honor and support those teachers who are going above and beyond curriculum requirements, acting locally to make a difference in protecting our planet while fostering the next generation of environmental stewards.
Secretary Bowles recognized 42 energy and environmental programs at an awards ceremony at the Massachusetts State House in May 2009.
