Grant round is open
The Our Common Backyards Grant Program is a new grant program aimed at building a new playground or spray park in each of the Commonwealth’s 54 cities. The program will help cities create or renovate parks in the neighborhoods that need them most, preferably Environmental Justice neighborhoods. Each city is eligible to receive up to $200,000 in grant assistance. The application process for this program is streamlined to allow for a quick turnaround of grant awards and construction of as many projects as possible this spring and fall. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis.
A series of workshops will be held across the state in January to receive more information on the program. Please RSVP to Melissa Cryan at (617) 626-1171 (or email to Melissa.Cryan@state.ma.us) if you plan to attend.
