	<summary type="html"><p>Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Commissioner Mark Sylvia and Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) CEO Alicia Barton today announced the launch of a new $475,000 incentive program to help residents install high-efficiency wood pellet boilers in their homes or small businesses.</p><p>Residents who participate in the program – which is a partnership between MassCEC and DOER – can receive rebates of up to $15,000 for installing high-efficiency wood pellet boilers.</p><p>Base rebates will begin at $7,000, with a cap of $15,000 per applicant available if other program requirements are met. The anticipated average rebate will be between $10,000 and $12,000. New wood pellet boilers typically cost more than $20,000 fully installed.</p></summary>

	<summary type="html"><p>Due to overwhelming demand, the Commonwealth Woodstove Change-Out Pilot Program – which provides rebates for the replacement of old, inefficient wood-, wood pellet- or coal-burning stoves – is closed and will no longer accept applications for the program’s first funding block of $100,000.</p><p> </p><p>The pilot program, which was launched by the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) on De <a id="_GoBack" name="_GoBack"></a>c. 27, has exhausted its initial round funding after 12 days. Completed applications that have already been submitted electronically by Jan. 7 and paper applications postmarked by Jan. 7, will be honored as part of the initial round of funding.</p></summary>

	<summary type="html"><p>BOSTON – Thursday, May 17, 2012 – The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) yesterday approved NSTAR’s lowest electric rates since 2004, the latest example of how falling natural gas prices have benefited Massachusetts ratepayers. Driven by lower prices for natural gas used to fuel power plants, electricity prices have dropped significantly from their peak in 2008 and 2009, resulting in total household bills reduced by almost 25 percent. Average bills for residential customers have dropped from about $150 per month to about $112 today. </p></summary>

	<summary type="html">DOER is authorized under 225 CMR 14.08(3)(b)2 to reduce the Alternative Compliance Payment (ACP) rate pertaining to the Solar Carve-Out portion of the RPS Class I obligation. Any such rate reduction may be no more than 10% in any one Compliance Year, must be announced by January 31st of that year, and must be accompanied by an explanation. DOER hereby reduces the Solar Carve-Out ACP Rate to $550 per MWh, down by 8.3% from the program’s 2010 initial rate of $600/MWh. The new $550/MWh rate is effective for Compliance Year 2011 and thereafter, unless and until DOER makes a further reduction by January 31st of any subsequent year.</summary>

The DPU's action reduced the Boston and Essex Gas Companies' revenue request by $36.4 million (46 percent), and Colonial Gas Company's by $9.6 million (36 percent). All told, the DPU's order, which culminated a more than six-month proceeding, denied the three Grid companies nearly half of the additional revenue sought in April 2010 rate filings.</summary>

Adoption of the so-called "Stretch Code" satisfies one of five criteria cities and towns must meet to be designated as "Green Communities" under a Department of Energy Resources (DOER) program that will distribute approximately $7 million in renewable energy and energy conservation grants to eligible communities in its first grant round this summer.</summary>
