Patrick-Murray Administration to Showcase Solar Energy During Summer Solstice Tour

WHAT: | Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Richard K. Sullivan Jr. and other members of the Patrick-Murray Administration's energy team will hold a series of solar-themed events throughout the Commonwealth on the summer solstice to showcase the growth of solar energy in Massachusetts. Taking place on Tuesday, June 21 - the year's longest day of daylight, events in Boston, Carver, Sutton and Pittsfield will highlight Massachusetts' diverse solar industry, and the Administration's commitment to creating more jobs, reducing energy costs, improving the environment, and becoming more energy independent. Since Governor Patrick took office in 2007, the number of solar-related companies in Massachusetts has quadrupled, employment in the sector has more than doubled, and solar installations are on track to increase 30-fold by end of this year. |
