Technology Transfer
OTA developed technology transfer seminars called Technology In Process (TIPs) to highlight a technology that could make a profound contribution to pollution prevention for a specific industry. Typically, OTA works with a host company to structure a seminar that allows representatives from other companies to obtain an up-close look at the innovative technology or process. Future seminars will be announced on our events page.
The Cleaner Technology Demonstration Sites program, run by the Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI), an OTA partner, promotes the adoption of cleaner technologies by encouraging Massachusetts companies to showcase their innovations for other manufacturers and the general public.
John Adams Grant Project: High-Speed Direct Digital Printing Of Textile Substrates With Radiation-Curable Inks, Dyes And Pigments
The John Adams Innovation Institute awarded OTA a grant of $150,000 through its Regional Priority Grants Program to investigate high-speed digital printing using wide-format printers and radiation-curable materials. This project is addressing energy consumption and environmental compliance issues. By working with selected contractors and industry stakeholders, OTA aims to accelerate the development and adoption of this technology, which will significantly improve the product mix, competitiveness, and profitability of textile printing operations compared to conventional textile screen printing. For more information about this project, please contact Gus Ogunbameru at (617) 626-1065, Scott Fortier at (617) 626-1090, or Morgan Mihok at (617) 626-1088.
Color Removal With TAML® Activated Hydrogen Peroxide
OTA, in conjunction with the Advanced Technology Manufacturing Center (ATMC) at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, applied technology, developed by Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), to remove potentially hazardous dyes from wastewater. This technology can improve water conservation efforts and potentially reduce regulatory burdens at facilities. For more information about this technology please download the
brochure

Right from the Start Program
OTA provides special services to companies that are building a new facility or expanding an existing plant. Our goal is to help design pollution out - and energy efficiency and water conservation into - the early planning, long before ground is broken. OTA can help companies to avoid or minimize the need to apply for environmental permits, to avoid associated fees, to shorten start-up time and ultimately to lower operating costs. For more information about Right From the Start please download the
program brochure
