Leading by Example Awards
The LBE Awards recognize outstanding efforts among Commonwealth agencies, public colleges and universities, and municipalities that have implemented policies and programs that have led to significant and measureable environmental and energy benefits. Starting in 2011 Two individuals from the public sector also became eligible for LBE awards.
Applications are currently being accepted for 2013 Leading by Example Awards .
The 2012 LBE Awards highlighted a variety of innovative public sector sustainability efforts. Recipients were: North Shore Community College, the towns of Scituate and Sutton, the state Department of Conservation and Recreation, and Department of Correction, two individuals – the Facilities Manager for the town of Sudbury and the retired Vice President of Administration and CFO of Massasoit Community College – the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, and UMass Lowell.
