Leading by Example Awards

The LBE Awards recognize outstanding efforts among Commonwealth agencies, public colleges and universities, and municipalities that have implemented policies and programs that have led to significant and measurable environmental and energy benefits. 

The 2016 LBE Awards highlighted a variety of innovative public sector sustainability efforts. Recipients were the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke, the Massachusetts Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (MassEVIP),  Springfield Technical Community College, the UMass System, the Town of Winchester, the Town of Needham, Matt Coogan, Planner in the City of Gloucester and Town of Essex, and Julia Wolfe, Director of Environmental Purchasing at the MA Operational Services Division.
