EEA Secretary Sullivan to Announce Park Grants for Six Central and Western Massachusetts Communities

| WHAT: | On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Richard K. Sullivan Jr. will announce six grants that will enhance parks and recreational facilities in the communities of Amherst, Holyoke, Northampton, Springfield, Westfield and Wilbraham. The grants are being awarded from two EEA initiatives – the Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities program (PARC) and the Gateway Cities Parks Program, one of the Patrick-Murray Administration’s signature initiatives. Recognizing that public parks are essential to the health and economic wellbeing of communities of all types and sizes, the Patrick-Murray Administration has made an unprecedented community park investment of more than $72.9 million to date. |
