State Agricultural Officials Kick Off Massachusetts Maple Month

Heralding spring and the start of the maple harvest season, Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources Commissioner Doug Petersen leads a sugar maple tree tapping ceremony in Shelburne to mark March as Massachusetts Maple Month. The ceremony features maple sugar tapping demonstrations by area farmers and a reading of a proclamation from Governor Patrick. Guests will be served coffee and donuts and offered a tour of Gould's Sugar House maple processing operations.

Continue on US 202 South for 8.4 miles. Continue on Route 2 for 20.1 miles. Take State Highway 2 West exit toward Springfield / North Adams / I-91 South. Merge onto I-91 South, follow for 2.2 miles. At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto Mohawk Trail / Route 2, follow for 11.9 miles. Destination will be on the right.
