Patrick-Murray Administration Presents 2010 Leading by Example Awards

Honorees include two UMass campuses, Departments of Transportation and Fire Services, cities of Medford and Northampton, towns of Greenfield and Mashpee

What Patrick-Murray administration officials will present annual Leading by Example awards to two state agencies, two state university campuses, and four municipalities for successfully reducing energy use, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recycling and taking other steps to improve overall environmental quality at public facilities. These actions support Governor Patrick's 2007 Executive Order directing state government to improve energy efficiency, pursue clean energy technologies, and reduce environmental impact. Slated for awards are the University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Department of Transportation, and Department of Fire Services, and the cities of Medford and Northampton and towns of Greenfield and Mashpee.
