• Independent Living Centers

    This website lists contact information for Independent Living Centers (ILCs) in your community. ILCs are private, nonprofit, community-based, nonresidential, cross-disability and consumer-controlled organizations that seek to maximize their consumers' independence. ILCs provide social services, peer counseling and advocacy for individuals with physical or mental disabilities of all ages. A large portion of an ILC's staff have disabilities themselves and serve as role models for the ILC's consumers. For more information, go to U.S. Department of Education website.
  • Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs)

    Use this website to find local Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs). ASAPs are private, non-profit agencies, funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which promote the independence and well-being of older individuals, their families, and caregivers. ASAPs provide the following services: information and referral; interdisciplinary case management; intake, assessment, development and implementation of long term care support service plans; nutrition services; monitoring of service plans; and reassessment of needs; and Protective Services, which investigates cases of abuse or neglect of elders age 60 plus.
