An updated version of the Assisted Living Certification Regulations was published in the Massachusetts Register and went into effect on January 13, 2017. The regulations are enforced by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) and each of the Assisted Living Residences (ALRs) in Massachusetts must comply with their requirements.

The ALR certification regulations were last revised in 2015, and earlier revisions were made in 2006. An unofficial copy of the regulations may be downloaded using the links below. Contact the Office of the Massachusetts Secretary of State to obtain an official version.
