Green Business Development

EOEA believes that it is critical to develop innovative environmental technologies
that will provide cost effective, technology-based solutions to environmental
problems in the Commonwealth. These technologies can be in the early stages
of development or commercial technologies ready to expand their markets.
EOEA can assist technology developers and encourage the use of innovative technology
by:
- Identifying and removing unnecessary and financially burdensome regulatory
or policy barriers,
- Providing contacts and information to identify environmental permits needed
to use the technology,
- Identifying potential users of the technology and low-cost opportunities
to introduce the technology to these target markets,
- Locating partners to provide demonstration sites (particularly at state-owned
facilities),
- Connecting companies to potential funding sources that can help them further
develop or demonstrate products,
- Working with other states through an interstate technology reciprocity partnership
to eliminate unnecessary duplication of technology testing and demonstration,
saving time and money and
- Providing documents from the Strategic Envirotechnology (STEP) program,
a collaborative partnership with the University of Massachusetts and the EOEA
that provide technology data and information.
