The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ Office of Technical Assistance and Technology and Water Policy Team, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, and the I-495 Metrowest Corridor Partnership held their first Water Resource Management conference on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, Massachusetts. Additional sponsors were Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM), the Environmental Business Council, the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and the Massachusetts Water Works Association. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has experienced considerable growth, which has resulted in greater stress on the water resources in the state. This conference provided the tools and strategies for industries & municipalities to conserve water. Session topics included:
• Best Management Practices for industries • Water reuse for commercial, retail, office, residential & recreational purposes • Innovative approaches to finding “new” water – water conservation, water offsets, etc. • Addressing peak demand • The regulatory environment • Stormwater recharge If you have questions about the event or would like additional information please contact OTA at 617-626-1060.
