The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ Office of Technical Assistance and Technology and Water Policy Team, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, and the I-495 Metrowest Corridor Partnership held their first Water Resource Management conference on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, Massachusetts. Additional sponsors were Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM), the Environmental Business Council, the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and the Massachusetts Water Works Association.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has experienced considerable growth, which has resulted in greater stress on the water resources in the state. This conference provided the tools and strategies for industries & municipalities to conserve water.
