Alda Rego has a long career in finance in health and human services that spans two states and almost two decades. Before becoming the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Finance at HHS, Ms. Rego worked in Rhode Island where she held posts as the Chief Financial Officer of the state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services and the Director of Finance in the state’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Prior to her tenure in Rhode Island, the bulk of Ms. Rego’s career was spent in Massachusetts where was the Chief Financial Officer of the Office of Medicaid. There she was responsible for MassHealth financial management, including state and federal budget reporting and federal revenue management.
In her current role, Ms. Rego is responsible for Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and a Master of Public Administration from the Sawyer School of Management. She resides in Attleboro with her daughter.
