As the Undersecretary of Human Services to Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), Patricia Mackin brings more than 30 years of experience in policy formulation, implementation, management and monitoring in relation to administrative, clinical and program operations. In this role, Mackin assists the Secretary with the fiscal and administrative oversight of EOHHS’ $19.4 billion budget, supports its 22,000 employees and establishes strategic direction and priorities for EOHHS.

Prior to joining EOHHS, Mackin served as the Deputy Commissioner for Management and Budget/Chief Financial Officer at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health where she was responsible for the Department’s $750 million budget. She has a distinguished career focused on utilizing her management skills to further the mission of agencies serving children and families in the state of Massachusetts. Previously, she worked as the Chief of Staff both at the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Mental Health. She has extensive knowledge of behavioral health and child welfare programs, services and operations.

Mackin received the 2015 Drew-Foley Award from the Massachusetts Association of Mental Health and was the recipient of the Department of Mental Health’s Commissioner Recognition Award.
