The Department of Mental Health has embarked on a systemic transformation of services for adults with serious mental illness and children and adolescents with emotional disturbance. Some of the components of our transformation have come to fruition through the cross-agency collaboration implementing the Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) and the Community Based Flexible Supports (CBFS) procurement. We are now moving forward with the DMH Redesign Initiative. The success of our transformed system relies on the redesign of the Department's administrative structure and its ability to create a more efficient agency while maintaining a strong community presence at its local Sites.

The Department is strengthening its focus on activities and efforts that support recovery, consumer empowerment and choice. This initiative focuses on an organizational and structural change that will work to improve communication within our agency, promote stronger collaboration within and across divisions and advance the use of data and measures to monitor results.

Below are announcements and other information about the DMH Redesign Initiative. We will continue to update this information as we move through the phases of implementation of this initiative. Please check back regularly.
