Waiver 101

Massachusetts, along with all the states, provides home and community-based services through the federal Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HBCS) waiver program. Massachusetts has had a HCBS waiver since 1985. The documents that follow are intended to provide information about the federal program and inform interested individuals about the status of the Department's new adult waivers.
