RE: Update 141
Please be advised that the Executive Office of Health and Human Services has scheduled budget hearings for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005. This is an opportunity for the Secretary, Commissioners and staff members of EOHHS to hear public testimony about the proposed FY 2006 state budget before it is compiled for submission to the Fiscal Affairs Division. This is the first step in the annual budget process.
The first hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 26, at Springfield Technical Community College in the Building 2 Auditorium from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The second one will be held on Thursday, October 28, at the State House in Gardner Auditorium from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The third and final one will be held on November 12th at Worcester State College in the Blue Lounge.
Each agency head will be attending these budget hearings and listening to the citizens of the Commonwealth share their views on budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. This is similar to what EOHHS has done for the past two years. Your presence at these hearings will be important in relating what the provisions of the budget mean to you and your loved ones.
