Prospective employers may wish to take advantage of an option offered by the MRC to reimburse the salary of an employee during an on-site training period known as an On-The- Job-Training (OJT) fee. The maximum hourly unit rate which the Commission may expend for an on-the-job training program shall not exceed the established hourly wage of the employee assigned the responsibility of training the individual and shall not exceed the number of hours same employee devotes to training of the individual. Lower fees may be negotiated with the employer. When on-the-job training services are provided for a period longer than six months the employer shall receive, beginning on the first day of training in the seventh month a daily fee not to exceed 50% of the fee paid during the first six months.

The Commission may pay a unit rate for a minimum of 1 hour per day to a maximum unit of 8 hours per day.

The process is simple for any employer; a one page agreement is all it takes. For more information or to initiate an OJT, please call 1-800-245-6543 or your local MRC Office .

"I like working with MRC because I get skilled employees and those persons get a chance. It's amazing what can happen when you focus on people's abilities".
