We all can live healthier lives and protect ourselves from heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes by taking simple steps to Eat Better and Move More . Get started by taking small steps, and making little changes at home, at work, and in your community.

Your Community and Your Health

You are more likely to make healthy food choices if you know what they are and where you can find them in your area.  To make this easier, Mass in Motion Communities are working at the local level to establish healthy dining recognition programs in restaurants, expand access to farmers markets, increase community gardening, and collaborate with schools to make our kids’ diets healthier. 

To help people be more active, Mass in Motion Communities are working to expand access to recreation facilities, improve conditions to support walking and bicycling, establish open space plans to promote safe physical activity, encourage young people to be more active through walk to school initiatives, and more.
