Many of us don't get as much physical activity as we should. We've all got lots to do and not enough time to do it. You don't have to join a gym and work out for hours every day to be healthier. You just need to start moving more - a little here and a little there will start to add up.

Moving more every day can lower your risk for:

  • diabetes
  • high blood pressure
  • problems with your heart
  • some types of cancer

Being active can help you deal with stress, lose weight and build strong muscles and bones. It will give you more energy to get through the day and help you look, feel and think better.

Kids benefit from being active, too. Moving more can help your kids do better in school, grow up strong and feel better about themselves.

In this section you will find information on:

  • How much physical activity you need each week
  • Ways to be more active
