RE:	Annual Change to the Federal Standard Maintenance Allowance and Standard 
Shelter Expense

Annual Change to Spousal Allowances
Starting July 1, 2009, PACES is calculating the minimum-monthly-maintenance-
needs allowance using the following amounts:

*	federal standard maintenance allowance — $1,822; and
*	excess shelter allowance — $547.

The recalculation of open cases occurred during the week of July 6, 2009.

All patient-paid amount (PPA) changes that result from this update are effective 
July 1, 2009.

MassHealth regulations are being revised to update these figures.
