EVSpc 5.00 Release Notes

Purpose:
This document details the various modifications made to the latest version of the EVSpc and EVScall software based upon HIPAA 5010 
requirements.
Audience:
Providers who use EVSpc or EVScall to perform eligibility and claim status requests
Modifications:
The EVSpc and EVScall software has been modified to include HIPAA 5010 requirements for eligibility and claim status inquiries.
EVSpc reports have been enhanced to accommodate various field length changes.

Eligibility Inquiry and Response - The following data elements have been modified and/or removed.
*	Provider Organization Name field length has been increased to 60 characters.
*	Member Last Name field length has been increased to 60 characters and the First Name field length has been increased to 35 
characters.
*	Patient Account Number field length has been increased to 50 characters.
*	Tracking Number field length has been increased to 13 characters.
*	Member Day, Night, and Cell Phone Numbers have been removed.
*	TPL Carrier Name field length has been increased to 60 characters.
*	Managed Care Legal Name and Site Name field lengths have been increased to 60 characters.
*	Managed Care MCO Name field length has been increased to 60 characters.
*	Behavioral Health Provider Name field length has been increased to 60 characters.
*	Long Term Care Facility Name field length has been increased to 60 characters.

Claim Status Inquiry and Response - The following data elements have been modified or added.
*	New Claim Reference Identifier field has been added.
*	Member Last Name field length has been increased to 60 characters and First Name field length has been increased to 35 characters.
*	For the Member Gender field, “Unknown” value has been removed from the dropdown box.
*	Patient Account Number field length has been increased to 50 characters.
*	Internal Control Number (ICN) field length has been increased to 50 characters.
*	Member Gender and Date of Birth fields have been removed.
*	A new Line Item Control Number field has been added.

Note: The existing EVSpc 4.10 database will not be converted to EVSpc 5.00 during the installation process. The new EVSpc 5.00 
database must be created by either re-entering or importing the data.
Note: It is recommended that the previous version of system data source (refer to the Installation Instructions) not be removed 
until after January 1, 2012.
