Did you know that there are over 107,000 children and youth waiting to be adopted in the United States? Closer to home, there are 600 children and youth waiting and hoping to find a loving, permanent home in Massachusetts. The Commonwealth has a proud history in promoting awareness around the need for adoptive families.
Children in the care of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and currently awaiting adoption vary in age and come from diverse ethnic, linguistic, and economic backgrounds. Likewise, adoptive families come from diverse backgrounds. Adoptive parents do not have to be married, wealthy, or have a specific education or background. DCF is interested in making sure families provide safe, stable, loving homes. Every child deserves to be part of a loving family, adopting a child is an opportunity to change the life of a child…and your own.
