This Task Force has been replaced by a Special Commission on the Health Care Payment System.
To avoid a duplication of efforts, the Commonwealth's new has assumed the responsibilities of the HealthyMass Payment System Reform Task Force.
In August 2008, the Governor signed into law Chapter 305 of the Acts of 2008 titled, "An Act to Promote Cost Containment, Transparency and Efficiency in the Delivery of Quality Health Care."
The legislation includes a section that creates a "special commission on the health care payment system" co-chaired by the Secretary of Administration and Finance and the Commissioner of the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy. The objectives of the special commission (Section 44 of Chapter 305) significantly overlap with those of the HealthyMass Payment System Reform Task Force.
