The Office of Data Management and Outcomes Assessment (DMOA) is responsible for managing key data sets and resources while providing consistent leadership on data and research standards across the department. DMOA oversees the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics, which collects, houses, and issues data on births, deaths, and marriages, and the Massachusetts Cancer Registry, which collects and does surveillance work with cancer data on both the statewide and community level. DMOA oversees the Health Survey Program which conducts the Massachusetts module of the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey, and also collaborates with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on the Youth Health Survey and Massachusetts Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
The Office is developing a Virtual Data Warehouse, which in its pilot phase is supporting Prevention and Wellness Trust (PWTF) interventions, and is moving towards including the All Payers Claims Data, and a variety of individual DPH internal databases.
