Compliance with federal and state privacy laws and regulations ensures the lawful collection, use, and disclosure of confidential information.  The Privacy and Data Compliance Office (PDCO) is responsible for the integrity of data collected and managed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH).  The PDCO works with MDPH workforce to ensure compliance for privacy laws in areas such as access, collection, classification and maintenance.  

The PDCO provides support to the Department through the development of training, resolution of privacy complaints, publishing of procedures and has trained and educated a network of privacy specialists.  The PDCO, along with the privacy specialist work with workforce throughout the department, to create an environment where workforce understands their responsibility to protect confidential information.
