Northborough, a Mass in Motion community, has been tackling the issue of obesity since 2008. Building a Healthy Northborough is a community initiative to create healthy eating and physical activity opportunities for children and their families through programs, policies, systems, and environmental changes in the town of Northborough, Massachusetts. The initiative engages key community stakeholders including school administrators, local businesses, local government, and families.  Recently, school gardens were built in each of the four elementary schools, and 15 teachers were trained to implement the Take 10! program, aimed at increasing students' physical activity.  Outside of schools, Northborough is actively expanding the reach of its Healthy Food Establishment program.
